1855 - launched at Portsmouth Royal Dockyard. 1878 - used as a training ship for engineers at Portsmouth. 1904 - renamed Vernon II, part of the torpedo training depot, H.M.S. Vernon. 1924 - sank off Selsey while under tow with the loss of four lives.
