SS Safa el-Bahr (1894)

1894 - built on the Clyde by A. & J. Inglis for the Khedive of Egypt. The name means 'Joy of the Sea'. 1915 - hired by the Royal Navy as a patrol vessel. 1920 - converted from yacht to passenger vessel. 1929 - operated by Hellenic Coast Lines, Piraeus. 1941 - bombed and sunk.
