Atari Corp. established as subsidiary of Tramel Technology Ltd. who had acquired Atari Inc.'s Consumer electronics and Home Computer divisions in 1984; upgraded exisiting 8-bit computer products and introduced 32-bit Atari ST computer in 1985; 1989 released Atari Lynx hand-held game console followed by 64-bit Jaguar console in 1993, neither very successful; merged with JTS Inc. in 1996 to form JTS Corps., with Atari largely disappearing from the market until JTS Corps acquired by Hasbro in 1998 to form Atari Inc.
