Photographer and painter. Did photography work for Harper's Bazaar; gave this up for painting 1938. In Surrealist circles in Paris in the 1930s up to 1940; returned there 1944–5.

One-man exhibitions at the Redfern Gallery 1947 and the Hanover Gallery 1950; represented in the Recent Trends in Realist Painting exhibition at the I.C.A. 1952. Lived at Conives, Indre, France from c. 1948–9 and died there 18 May 1956.
