Christopher Jago was born in 1946. He joined British Railways’ Railway Studentship Scheme from 1966 to 1968 and was a Management Trainee from 1969. He went on to work as Divisional Director of Network SouthEast South Central and the Director of Restructuring for Network SouthEast. After privatisation he became Zone Director South at Railtrack. Between 1999-2004, he served as Managing Director for Network Rail and Channel Tunnel Rail Link Limited.
