MacDonald OBE is chair of UK Onshore Oil and Gas and emeritus professor of science engagement at the University of Reading. She was Professor of Science Engagement and Director of the STEM Engagement Centre. She was awarded an OBE in 2015 for services to advancing women in science and served as a Trustee of the Science Museum 2008-2016
