Nick Brown was born in 1959 and is a Cambridge graduate. In 1981 he became a Management Trainee in British Rail: Eastern Region and went on to hold various British Rail management posts in Cambridge, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Birmingham between 1982 to 1996. He served as the Managing Director of Midland, the Managing Director of Scotrail, theChief Executive(?) of the Bus Division, National Express Group, 1996- 2005. From 2005 he served as the Chief Executive of SERCO Transport Middle East Division, staying in this role until 2014. From 2014 to 2016 he served as the Managing Director, London Underground & Rail, Transport for London from 2014 to 2016 and then joined Govia Thameslink in 2016 as Chief Operating Officer, staying in this role until 2019.
