Tim A. Stubbs was born in 1944. He became an Engineering Sandwich Course Student Trainee with British Rail: Southern Region in 1962. He then held various engineering roles across the British Rail Regions. He then became Traincrew Manager in British Rail: London Midland Region and then became Training and Development Manager in British Railways’ Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Department in 1987. He was appointed as Training and Development Manager at the British Railways Board before becoming the Personnel Manager for all the rolling stock companies (ROSCOs) in 1994. He subsequently worked as Projects Engineer for Porterbrook Leasing.
