1886 - Formed from Laing, Wharton & Down, London;

1892 - Became part of Thomson-Houston Electric Company;

1896 - Name changed to British Thomson-Houston Company Ltd;

1928 - Merged with Metropolitan-Vickers Electrical Company Ltd.;

1929 - Became part of the holding company Associated Electrical Industries Ltd (AEI);

The brand name was retained until 1959 when AEI was used.
