Angenieux 1935

After working briefly for Pathé, engineer Pierre Angénieux (1907-1998) founded a company specialising in cinema equipment in 1935, les établissements Pierre Angénieux (Pierre Angénieux Establishments); In 1950 Angénieux developed the Angénieux retrofocus; during 1950s and 1960s develops zoom lens for still, television and cine cameras (supplying lenses to Kodak in the 1950s and 1960s); provided NASA space program with specialist lenses; from 1970s concentrated on specialised military, medical and space program applications as Thales Angénieux (part of Thales Group).
