1919 - William H. Hoover from Cannton, Ohio, USA, founds Hoover Limited, with a factory in Perivale, West London. 1946 - Hoover begin production at a new factory in Cambuslang, Scotland. 1948 - Hoover opens a factory in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales, for washing machine manufacture.
