1825 - presented a paper on the absorption of gases by liquids at Glasgow University. 1826 - began studying medicine at Edinburgh University. 1828 - became a fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh. 1830 - became professor of chemistry at Anderson's Institution, Glasgow. 1831 - Graham read a paper to the Royal Society of Edinburgh which became 'Graham's Law'. 1836 - became a fellow of the Royal Society of London. 1837 - appointed professor of chemistry at University College, London. 1838 & 1850 - awarded the Royal Society, royal medal. 1855 - became Master of the Mint and replaced copper coins with bronze coins. 1862 - awarded the Copley medal.
