1931 - took over Nation and Athenaeum and became New Statesman and Nation (incorporating Athenaeum). 1933 - acquired Weekend Review. 1934 - became New Statesman and Nation (incorporating The Weekend Review). 1957 - became New Statesman (incorporating The Weekend Review). 1964 - became New Statesman. 1988 - merged with New Society to become New Statesman and Society. 1996 - reverted to New Statesman
