1874 - John Baker entered into a partnership with Thomas Burnett, creating John Baker and company at Conisbrough. 1903 - moved to Kilnhurst steel works, Rotherham. 1904 - John Baker died and the business was continued by his son. 1920 - became a limited company. 1927 - took over Harrison and Camm Limited. 1930s - took over Henry Bessemer Limited and became Baker and Bessemer Limited.
