1847 - first lithographic album was published by Aubert in Paris. 1850 - exhibited paintings in the Salon. 1854 - achieved acclaim as an illustrator with the publication of his first edition of the Œuvres de Rabelais and the Histoire pittoresque, dramatique et caricaturale de la Sainte Russie. 1861 - awarded the chevalier de la Légion d'honneur. 1878 - awarded the officier de la Légion d'honneur.
