Wagon Repairs Ltd was formed, on the 5th March, 1918, by the amalgamation of several major railway freight manufacturers. The company began to expand and over time incorporated a number of other wagon manufacturers. In 1951 Wagon Repairs Ltd. began to diversify into the manufacturing of storage products and then, in 1969, into the production of railway buffers. Then, in 1974, Wagon Repairs became Wagon Industrial Holdings Ltd.
