1815- Founded by John Doulton, John Watts and Martha Jones. 1820- Martha Jones retires, partnership dissolved and firm renamed Doulton & Watts. 1854- John Watts retires and the Doulton family join assets to form Doulton & Co. 1898- Business incorporated as Doulton & Co Limited. 1901- Doulton granted a royal warrant. 1956- Doulton & Co Limited re-organised into four subsidiary companies. 1971- All subsidiaries of Doulton acquired by S. Pearson & Co. Limited. 1993- Royal Doulton plc floated, includes all Doulton assets previously held by S. Pearson & Co. 2005- all Doulton brands transferred to the Waterford Wedgewood Group. 2009- Royal Doulton entered administration, now a part of WWRD Holding Ltd.
