Telephone Manufacturing Company Limited 1915 - 1969

Established at the outbreak of the First World War when it became impossible to obtain German telephone equipment. Made public in 1920 and in 1929 split into Telephone Manufacturing Company Co. 1929 Ltd (manufacture) and Telephone Rentals Ltd (rentals and installation). Diversified into speakers and radio sets and supplied phones to the British Post Office. Bought out by the Pye group in the 1960s, becoming Pye TMC Ltd
