Alexandra PLC was founded in 1958 as a mail order workwear business. In 1985 it obtained full Stock Exchange listing and became Alexandra Workwear plc and began to expand further opening offices in Paris and Edinburgh. In 1995 the company moved to its current head office location in Thornbury, Bristol. I The name was changed from Alexandra Workwear plc to Alexandra plc in hopes of appealing to a wider audience. In 2002 the company was granted a Royal Warrant of Appointment to Her Majesty The Queen and also diversified with a new branch called Alexandra Corporate Clothing Limited to create bespoke clothing for blue chip clients. In 2005 the company made further acquistions including Prima Corporate Wear Limited and de Baer plc.
