c. 1908 - Colour process invented by Frenchman Louis Dufay, but commercially avalable in Britain from early 1930s; Ilford Ltd acquired an interest in Dufay-Chromex Ltd in 1935 which began manufacturing 35mm colour film for Ilford under the trade name Dufaycolor; links with Ilford ceased in 1937; factory ceased production c. 1957.
