Pioneer travel agency, Dean & Dawson, were founded in 1871 by Joseph Dean, who located the company in Stockport. In 1890, Dean founded a printing company, which would be able to take care of the needs of the travel agency. Although the travel agents were eventually taken over by Thomas Cook, the printers still exist today as Deanprint Ltd.
