The London and Brighton Railway was incorporated in 1837 and ran from a junction with the London & Croydon Railway, at Norwood, - which gave it access to the South Coast at Brighton. On July 27th, 1846, the L&B amalgamated with the London & Croydon Railway to form the London, Brighton and South Coast Railway.
