Chambers Pencils was founded in 1913, under the name CB Syndicate, Fred Chambers, Professor Hinchley and Mr Brown. In 1915 Fred Chambers bought out Mr Brown, and renamed the company F.Chambers & Co Ltd. In 1973 the factory moved to a new factory at Sandiacre, Derbyshire and remained there until March 1991 when it was bought out by German based Lyra Company. Chambers Pencils was formed in May 1991.
