During nationalisation railway hotels were placed under the control of the British Transport Commission's Hotels Executive. The arrangement lasted until 1953, when the Executive was abolished and the Commission took control. They became part of the British Transport Commission Hotels and Catering Services. This lasted until 1953 when the BTC Hotel and Catering Services was formed instead.
