1878 - moved to Penarth, Cornwall. 1910 - was a founder member of the Society for Nautical Research. 1914 - moved to St Ives. 1920 - along with Henry Jenner, set up the first Old Cornwall Society in St Ives. 1928 - helped set up the Gorseth Kernow, a version of the bardic gathering attached to the eisteddfod. 1929 - produced the book, Cornish for All. 1934 - published a Cornish language dictionary. 1951-1955 - served as president of the Royal Institution of Cornwall.
