1915 - the British Tanker Company Limited (BTC) was formed by the Anglo-Persian Oil Company (APOC), in order to transport oil from Iran. 1924 - the fleet numbered 60 ships. 1939 - the British government chartered the whole fleet of 93 vessels to supply fuel for its forces during the Second World War. 1945 - company renamed the BP Tanker Company.
