Created in 1982 along with Intercity and Network SouthEast by British Rail. It was heavily subsidised. Main areas of operation were North West, North East, Anglia and Wales. Before privatisation it was split into different franchises.

Ring binder, paper and card pages, steel rings, plastic-covered board covers, Identity Management, issued by Regional Railways and the British Railways Board, 1991 to 1992. The binder is divided into the following sections: design elements, rolling stock, environment, communications, stationary and contacts. It describes the make-up and use of Regional Railways' image including signage, timetables, liveries, paperwork, use of the colour scheme, etc. etc. The pages were issued between August 1991 and November 1992 by the Regional Railways Identity Manager, Swindon.
