1872 - inspired by Pullman, Georges Nagelmackers founded the company in Belgium; Introduced the Orient-Express, Nord Express, and Sud Express; leading provider and operator of European railway sleepers and dining cars during the late 19th and the 20th century. After world war 2 concentrated more on being a travel agency and management business. In 1967 it was renamed Compagnie des Wagons-Lits and later became simply Wagon-Lits. In 1991 Wagons-Lits became part of the French multi-national Accor Hotel and Leisure Group. Currently the company is based in Paris and operates in Austria, France, Italy, Portugal, Spain, and the UK, providing on-board catering services
