1873 - George Watson founds G.L. Watson and Co. Reputed to be one of the world's first yacht design studios. G.L. Watson & Co. designed several 'America's Cup' challenger yachts, including 'Valkyrie II', 'Valkyrie III' and 'Shamrock II'.
