Traded at, 272 Strand, London, England (1825-39), apprenticed to William Cary, succeeded by son Henry Gould (-1859) then partnership of Gould & Porter. Designed a pocket microscope (box-foot type), which takes his name, described and illustrated in book published by him in 1827.
