Redmanol Limited was founded as the British selling agent for the Redmanol Chemical Products Company of America. The latter was founded by Lawrence Vincent Redman.

1927 - Redmanol Limited, Damard Lacquer Company and Mouldensite Limited of Darley Dale are merged to form Bakelite Limited.
