The Isle of Man Railway connects Douglas with Castletown and Port Erin.Formed in 1870. Its first line, from Douglas to Peel, was opened on 1 July 1873. It closed briefly in 1966. It was nationalised in 1978. The railway is now marketed under the title of "Isle of Man Steam Railway," which is owned and operated by Isle of Man Transport
