Bankfoot Light Railway 1898 - 1909

Built under light railway orders granted in 1898 and 1903, this 3-mile line ran from Strathord Junction to Bankfoot. It opened for goods on 5 March 1906, and to passengers on 15 May, the company being vested in the Caledonian Railway with effect from 1 August 1909 by an Act of 16 August. Passenger closure came on 13 April 1931, and services ceased completely on 7 September 1964.
