Incorporated on 31 July 1845 and opened formally on 22 May 1847. It leased the Dundee and Newtyle Railway from 14 October 1846, and the Dundee and Arbroath Railway from 31 August 1848 when it was allowed to change its name to Dundee and Perth and Aberdeen Railway Junction Company with effect from the end of the Parliamentary Session.
