He had begun writing from very early age, producing one of the best known poems ‘Mariana’ when he was at the age of twenty. He became an influential figure of English poetry after the release of ‘In Memoriam’, which brought him a success and made him being appointed as Poet Laureate in 1850. In 1884, he appointed as Baron Tennyson by Queen Victoria , who was an admirer of his poetry.
Tennyson’s poetry shows a notable influence of Romantic Poet and that f Lord Byron’s style at the early stage of his writing career. He was also known for the use of rhythms within words, which made his poems more melodious and musical.
