Authorized on 26 May 1826. Opened partially on 16 December 1831 and throughout on 3 April 1832. A 999 year lease was negotiated with the Dundee and Perth Railway, dated 14 October 1846 and the company was vested in SCR on 28 July 1863, but the company maintained its own separate identity until Grouping.
