1795 - James Curtis & Co, wholesale druggist; 1867 - W V Wright Jr (d. 1913) moved his firm, Wright, Sellers & Layman, to premises at 50 Southwark Street, Southwark, London. 1876 - Charles Umney (1843-1909) taken into partnership; Mr Sellers retired and company name changed to Wright, Layman & Umney, proprietors of Wright’s Coal Tar Soap. factory warehouse extended into 44, 46, and 48 Southwark Street; 1899 - incorporated as limited company; 1899 - Drug Laboratories and Soap Factory moved to 66-76 Park Street, Southwark; 1930s - company bought Dakin Brothers in Middlesex Street. 1942 - factory built at 66 Park Street, Southwark. 1950 - additional warehouse built in Southwark Street; 1960s - Wright's Coal Tar Soap business sold to LRC Products.
