Ayrshire & Galloway Railway 1847 - 1853

This was authorized on 8 June 1847 to build lines to Sillyhole and Waterside, SE of Ayr. By the time they opened, on 18 March 1854, the company had changed its title to the Ayr & Dalmellington Railway by an Act of 4 August 1853.
