Alresford & Winchester Railway Alton 1861 - 1861

This was an independent company incorporated on 28 June 1861 to extend the Alton branch of the L&SWR for 17 miles to Winchester. Before the line opened, the company changed its name to the Mid Hants (Alton Lines) Railway.
