Left upper limb prosthesis for a child with a very
Left upper limb prosthesis for a child with a very short arm and small hand, three fingers, (absent thumb and index). Two valves are sited on the inner side of the socket, operated by the rudimentary fingers. CO2 gas powered 'Otto Bock' split-hook. There is a strip of reversed chrome leather on the under surface of the forearm and on the elbow ball, to prevent the limb sliding when the child is resting on a desk or table. Made by Steeper c. 1972.

Pair of CO2 powered upper limbs for a 10 year old boy born with absence of the left arm and a rudimentary right above elbow stump. Plastic sockets with a leather inner socket on the right side. Full shoulder cap on the left side. Standard (Dorrance) right split-hook, [body powered by means of a Bowden cable, routed to the outer side of the arm]. CO2 gas powered left split-hook operated by the shoulder (acromion process) activating the valve set on the shoulder cap. Powered right wrist rotation unit, operated by valve sited on the outer side of the socket and activated by stump pressure. Left split-hook operated by Bowden cable with perlon cord. Fully-automatic elbow mechanisms with locking/unlocking control from perlon cables sited across the chest. Made by Steeper 23 November 1973.

Parts of the interplanetary scintillation array (also known as the 4-acre array) built at Mullard Radio Astronomy Observatory, Cambridge, 1967. Designed by Antony Hewish and used by Jocelyn Bell to detect pulsars. Consists of two wooden vertical supports, one wooden cross support, and a section of copper wire and cables.

Clipping on back notes that the camera, which was only switched on at night to deter thieves, failed to capture a £50,000 daytime robbery in a jewellers shop in Cross Street. Of the jewels stolen was an award-winning showpiece brooch designed by Mr. Gerard Andreu.
