Apollo 10 command module, call sign 'Charlie Brown', by North American Rockwell Corporation, Downey, Los Angeles county, California, United States, American, 1969. Apollo 10, carrying astronauts Thomas Stafford, John Young and Eugene Cernan, was launched in May 1969 on a lunar orbital mission as the dress rehearsal for the actual Apollo 11 landing. Stafford and Cernan descended in the Lunar Module to within 14 kilometres of the surface of the Moon, the closest approach until Neil Armstrong and Edwin ‘Buzz’ Aldrin in Apollo 11 landed on the surface two months later.

Painting, acrylic on canvas, British Railways, Southern Region, 'Spirit of the Southern', viaduct, train and Downs, by Harry Stevens. A contemporary depiction of a commuter train passing over a viaduct, surrounded by a number of hills beyond which is the sea. The linear portrayal of the train and track contrast with the exaggerated undulation of the hills, fields and clouds. Commissioned by L.W Ibbotson General Manager of the Southern Region in 1969 to promote the 'Southern into the Seventies' campaign. Framed 1970.

No 015347. In original carton with Kodak directional microphone and wriststrap (carton not seen 2011). bought in a camera shop in 1976 for £64.07. The Kodak Ektasound 130 was the first camera designed to record sound simultaneously with picture onto magnetically-striped Super 8 Ektachrome film.

Memorial, oak plaque, in memory of Henry West, killed in a whirlwind at Reading Station, Great Western Railway, 24th March 1840, replacement panel of 1971. The panel reads: "In memory of Henry West, who lost his life in a whirlwind at the Great Western Railway station, Reading on the 24th March 1840, aged 24 years. Sudden the change. I in a moment fell and had not time to bid my friends farewell. Yet hushed be all complaint, tis sweet, tis blest to change Earth's stormy scenes for endless rest. Dear friends prepare, take warning by my fall, so shall you hear with joy your Saviour's call. A rail was erected at the time by his fellow workmen as a token of affectionate respect to his memory. Renewed by his brother George, 1862. Renewed by his niece, F G Rixon, 1924. Renewed by the Reading Corporation, 1971".
