Décret portant réglement pour écoles d'arts et métiers

Pamphlet. Printed letter from J. de la Bouillerie (Joseph de Roullet de La Bouillerie), director of the ministry of agriculture and trade, to the director of Écoles d'arts et métiers, describing modifications to the 1865 decree on the nature of schools of art and trade, following a government commission. An annotation is present on page five. Signed, probably by the subsequent director, Alfred Deseilligny. Printed in Versailles. 12 pages, 185mm x 240mm.

Bound brown booklet. Contains an inserted slip inside which reads 'Employment of children in factories. Préfecture de police, Dept. de la Seine. Children's certificate book.' Appears to be a booklet given to children upon the completion of a primary education, as proof so that they could work in industry. The booklet would be stamped by the Mayor's office. This regulation is related to the child labour law of May 19th, 1874, which is printed in detail from page 3 onwards. Printed in Paris by Chaix printing, rue de la Sainte-Chapelle, 5.
