Signalling & Telecommunications
1897
Block instrument: Sykes' Lock and Block absolute 2-tablet/1-semaphore block-indicator with plunger-commutator, release key-hole, and switch-hook (all brass). The upper/lower tablet indications are "Locked/Free" and "Blank/Train On" respectively. The tablet cut-out face-plate sits within a brass-bezelled circular aperture and is inscribed "Local 12", "To Coborn Road", "From Devonshire Street". Above the tablet-aperture is a rectangular brass Sykes' maker's plate. This instrument was presented by 'W.R. Sykes Interlocking Signal Company Ltd' and has a Description Card.

Signal box, South Eastern Railway, ex Borough Market Junction, London Bridge. Built in 1895 to standard South Eastern Railway design. Equiped with Westinghouse K frame in 1928. Closed in 1976, when London Bridge power box was opened.

Painting, acrylic on canvas, British Railways, Southern Region, 'Spirit of the Southern', viaduct, train and Downs, by Harry Stevens. A contemporary depiction of a commuter train passing over a viaduct, surrounded by a number of hills beyond which is the sea. The linear portrayal of the train and track contrast with the exaggerated undulation of the hills, fields and clouds. Commissioned by L.W Ibbotson General Manager of the Southern Region in 1969 to promote the 'Southern into the Seventies' campaign. Framed 1970.

Block instrument; Caledonian Railway. Tyer's 2-needle (Up/Down Line) F-Type 3-position absolute pegging/non-pegging instrument (with internal bell). Has circular, electroplated/brass line-description plate ("Greenhill Lower"), bakelite-wedge commutator, electroplated bell-plunger (bottom/RHS), and bakelite release-button in circular aperture (middle/RHS).

Locomotive headlamp, made by GWR , in commemoration of Queen Victoria's diamond jubilee, in 1897. The object is 31"x 9" and is finished on top with a crown.

1907
Crane, North Eastern Railway, Craven 25 ton steam breakdown crane, No. CME 13 (LNER No. 901638, BR No. 331153), ordered 14th June 1906 from Craven Brothers of Manchester, order number C.8817, delivered in 1907, originally allocated to Gateshead but spent most of its life at Middlesbrough Shed, moved from there in 1958 after its closure and spent time at Thornaby, Wakefield and Shirebrook until being withdrawn in 1971.

Painting, oil on canvas, The Terminus (Penzance Station) by Stanhope Alexander Forbes, 1925. Painting shows a busy station platform from a high view point. This includes carriages, passengers and posters. The sea wall, houses and fields can be seen beyond the platform. Framed and glazed.

Model steam locomotive cab, approx. 1/8 scale, BR Standard Class 7 4-6-2 No.70000 `Britannia', cut away to show anotated controls, probably built by BR apprentices, circa 1951. Overall: 375 mm x 335 mm x 330 mm.
