Wood-working brace drill, with button-operated latch chuck, unsigned, England, 1875-1885. This is an early example of the brace which replaced the bow drill because it is easier to manipulate than the bow and there is no idle return movement. The speed of rotation is slower but the turning force (moment) is greater and a different form of bit (drill piece) taking a heavier cut was used. This is fitted with a button type of chuck used from the latter half of the 18th Century. However, the style features in 20th Century tool catalogues.

Telegraph block instrument; Walker's, 1855, Stockton & Darlington Railway, No 216, type introduced by Mr C V Walker on the South Eastern Railway. (No.161 of 1866) Lock and Block with double semaphore-arm block-indicators on vertical wooden post with top-mounted block-dome/striker. There are 3 plates attached: "SDR No 162" (enamel); "Walker's Semaphore Block Instrument.1855....." (ivorine); "Walkers' Patent.." (enamel). This has a significantly shorter case than the SER examples.

Miniature photographic album featuring cartes-de-visite and cabinet cards of works by Julia Margaret Cameron. Known as the 'Julia Hay Norman Miniature Album', 12 May 1869. This album was given by Julia Margaret Cameron to her daughter, Julia Norman on 12 May 1869. The album consists of 144 reduced albumen prints taken from her large format subjects. 135 are mounted as cartes-de-visite and 9 are mounted on cabinet mounts. Some subjects appear twice. Cameron has inscribed the album and captioned the majority of the prints.
