Astronomical spectroscope from Norman Lockyer Observatory, brass, with train of seven prisms. Thought to be the one made by John Browning, London for Norman Lockyer who first used it to view Solar Prominences [chromosphere] outside a solar eclipse.

An identity photograph of Hannah Buckham, taken by an unknown photographer in 1873. The photograph is taken from an album of prison record photographs. Buckham, aged forty-two, was arrested in Newcastle in December 1873 and sentenced to three months hard labour for theft.

Morse sounder, c.1880. Double plate sounder., in wooden case with needle and dial at the top. Last used over railway telegraph circuits to transmit Morse code through a reversal of the current to distinguish dot from dash. The needle moved to left and right.
