"Photo-rotoscope" 35mm. projector mechanism, made by W C Hughes, Brewster House, 82 Mortimer Road, Kingsland Road, London, c. 1896. This projector advances the film by 'dog' motion. An eccentric roller on a rotating disc periodically strikes the film below the film gate and drags the film the length of one frame. The film is then taken up by a continuously moving sprocket wheel.
