Pathe 17.5mm cine camera, 'Rex' motocamera. Cine camera for 17.5mm film in chargers. 30 foot load. Fitted with a Krauss Triannar lens F:2.5cm f/3-14 fixed focus, Serial No 276103. Optical frame finder. The camera has a clockwork motor of 50 seconds capacity running at a fixed speed of 16 frames/second.Exposed film indicator calibrated 0-9. Instructions inside the film chamber. Distribution No R 00436. Manufactured by Pathe, France. Card instruction leaflet inside film bay door.

Obverse: portrait HS of Michael Faraday (1791-1867), signed blc, A Rivaud. Reverse: Faraday Benzene Centenary 1825-1925; [chemical symbols and] AIN; James Morton 1925; with schematic representation of four Benzene rings.

Matrix side-hole drilling machine, Plant No.990, made by the Lanston Monotype Corporation, Salford, Redhill, Surrey, 1925. Used for the production system for 0.2 x 0.2 inch Monotype matrices, equipped for automatic handling of matrices from input to output galleys. The machine is used to form the hole for the matrix case retaining rods. Two opposing drills nearly meet during drilling. In a second operation, one of the drills clears the hole. Mounted on bench, with machines Nos.986, 2080 & 1888. Bench has electrical and compressed air services incorporated.

Horizontal cross-compound condensing uniflow engine, made by Galloways Ltd, Manchester, for Elm Street Mill, Burnley, 1926. Elm Street Mill was a ‘Room and Power’ mill, which means that different companies could hire a space with heating and lighting in the mill and link their machines up to the engine for their power supply. The engine also drove the alternator to generate electricity to light the mill. With associated archive material.
