Gelatin silver print entitled 'Unpublished Picture of Hiroshima Atom Bomb Explosion', taken by an unknown photographer and distributed by Associated Press, 23 July 1947. 'This picture, taken from the town of Yoshiura, on the other side of the mountain north of Hiroshima shows smoke rising from the explosion of the atom bomb. It was obtained by an Australian engineer at Kure, Japan. Note the radiation spots on the negative caused by the explosion.'

Rudder angle indicator and junction box

The rudder angle indicator shows the position taken by the rudder and enables the helmsman to know that the rudder is responding to the wheel. It also shows the amount of rudder that has been applied by the After Power Unit which is operated by the Automatic Helmsman on the Bridge.
