Poster, National Screen Service Limited, Murder on the Orient Express, 1974. Coloured lithograph promoting Sidney Lumet’s film of Agatha Christie’s crime novel. It depicts, in Art Deco style, the Orient Express train, hauled by a steam locomotive. Standing to the side of the train is the figure of the fictional Belgian detective, Hercule Poirot, played by the actor Albert Finney. He is dressed in an overcoat and bowler hat and carries a cane. On either side of this illustration are photographs of the main characters in the film, including the actors Albert Finney, Sean Connery, Ingrid Bergman and John Gielgud. Text below gives details of the director, composer and author of the screenplay. Details of the publisher and printer are given in the bottom margin.
