Large plaster medallion of Luigi Galvani, copy, European, 1780-1920. Said to be a stucco copy of the medallion on the door of the house in Bologna, Italy, where Galvani was born, but see note. The head, shown in profile, is facing the left-hand side of the medallion. The medallion reads 'LUIGI' on the left side and 'GALVANI' on the right.
